Max`s Bakery in Lapeer

My family and I got hooked on Max's donuts when we lived in Lake Orion. My mom would bring them on occasion. Now we live in Lapeer, this is a monthly treat on Sundays. The donuts are so fresh and soft inside along with the perfectly crisp outside. Our personal favorites are the apple fritter and Boston cream cream. You will not be disappointed!

I live on the west side of the state. I’ve had quite a few different donuts between here and there. By far, for this side of the state, these are THE BEST donuts! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The service is VERY fast! I’ve come here twice and picked up two dozen. Im usually in and out within 5 minutes. Max’s has a huge selection (its overwhelming, in a good way). Sometimes it’s a bit crowded inside with the old guys drinking coffee and sharing conversation. But that is a good sign, it’s a cozy welcoming place.

Best donuts in Michigan! My family and I love this place. If we could eat donuts every weekend without gaining a bunch of weight, we would be here. You have to try their chocolate cream sticks, they are the absolute best.

Hands down the absolute best donuts around. Everything is made fresh and if you get there early enough, there are sooo many different kinds to choose from. My favorite is the chocolate honey dipped.They have regular donuts, donut holes, fritters, and so much more. Even HUGE cinnamon buns. They also have coffee and a variety of cold drinks. And the staff is so sweet and pleasant.

I love donuts from Max's. The cream sticks are my very favorite. My husband especially likes Sunday morning donuts and frequently makes the 15 mile drive (one way) to get them at Max's. Bonus: at my most recent visit, the customer in front of me was looking for a long john with no filling. This is not something Max's normally carries, but he was cheerfully assured that if he phoned a day in advance they would be happy to make them just how he liked them.

The cinnamon roll with the peanut butter frosting and chopped peanuts on top is the best donut I have ever had. And that is saying something because my mom worked in a bakery most of my life. The peanut butter flavor was not super strong, but just right. I am a costumer for life!

Max's donuts is a wonderful mom and pop type donut shop. Wonderful donuts. Relatively average prices, nothing to complain about. My only complaint is I wish I lived closer. Not to mention they're efforts to make business doable during the Covid-19 pandemic.

My children absolutely love Donuts from here I always try to get them on the first day of school I love to do surprises and get them whenever I get a chance early in the morning. I enjoy that you guys open so early so I'm able to do that. The lady who works the front counter is always so friendly. I've been seeing her for the last few years and we always talked about our kids and she always does an amazing job keep up the good work guys. Thank you for always making my children smile

I've had some good apple fritters but this place is the best! Did you hear me!!!! The best. The coffee is very good too. The donuts are about 50% bigger than TH. Good job. Come early. They go fast.

We wereI lost near Lapeer forest and stopped at the donut shop for directions. One kind lady explained street by street where to turn, to see memorable signs and to remember exactly where to turn. The donuts looked and smelled great and it was a very comfortable, pretty little store with superb and enticing sweets. But that's another story!

Several people suggested I try Max's as it's a favorite of locals. I visited in the late morning and there were a wide selection of doughnuts and bagels to choose from. Max's has a small area to eat in and a loyal local following.

Best donuts in Lapeer county I believe, their donut holes are so light and fluffy, you don't even realize how many you have ate until they are gone

This was by far the best doughnut in the area. I would bring the doughnuts home and the bag would always have a grease stain. This was a sign that you were about to have a rich, buttery amazing treat. The grease is gone along with the buttery taste. I had a chocolate covered, whipped cream type filled doughnut, the filling was so excessively sweet I had to remove it. My apple filled had maybe a tablespoon of filling, nothing compared to the old doughnuts. I will not be back ever again.

Great place, everything tastes great except the coffee is a little weak for my taste. Definitely worth the price on the doughnuts, custard filling is deliciously rich, Apple fritters are crispy with all sizes being generous.
